What a Weekend!!

Last weekend I had a girls weekend with 6 amazing friends a girl could ever ask for. We all love Rascal Flatts so we were following them on their last weekend on the road till summer. The shows we had lined up were the Houston Rodeo, Oklahoma City, and New Orleans. Becca came down from New York and Deb met us in OKC from Florida. Rodeo was a blast because Becca had never been to a rodeo before. Jen, Becca and I met our friend Alicia at the rodeo and she was staying over with me so we could head out the next day for OKC. Friday we headed out to OKC with Adina, Alicia, Becca, Jen and I(and Watty of course) to our hotel. We went up a day early since its about an 8 hour drive from Houston to OKC. We were all goofing off in the van and made the 8 hours fly by. Three of the girls(Adina, Alicia, and Becca) were tweeting each other and we were all cracking up. The hotel room we had in OKC was huge!

Saturday we got up and got ready because we had to be out by check out. We went and picked up Deb from the airport and took her to her hotel. We finished up getting ready at Debs hotel since we had to get ready early at ours. When Deb checked in she heard the desk clerk talking to someone about the concert and how her friends had tickets but she wasn't able to get a ticket. Deb knew we had an extra ticket and told us about it. We went to her and asked her if she wanted the ticket and she about died when we said we had one and she could have it. Her reaction was priceless!

Once we were ready we headed to the venue. Since we are part of the Rascal Flatts Street Team we got to go in early to help distribute fliers before the show. Jen and I did a few rows on the floor and had Watty off leash but between us and worked on recall. He did amazing! Chris Young's band was doing sound check while we were working the floor and working with Watty. After we finished passing the fliers out we went to the pits and waited to get our spot right up front. Once our spot was found Adina, Becca, Watty and I had meet and greets with Chris. We decided we wanted to be at the back of the line. When we got in the room where the meet and greets were going to take place Chris walked in and looked at the 3 of us and said "Hey Girls" after he said that we busted out laughing and wondering if he was reading the tweets Adina, Becca, and Alicia were tweeting each other the day before. They had added Chris' twitter name in each tweet. Once it was my turn I went up to him and he said Hi Watty and petted Watty on the head. I was kinda shocked he remembered Watty's name from a month before. I got a hug from Chris and he loved the shirts Becca and I had on.

Biker Benefit

Last Saturday Jen, Watty and I went to a benefit for an injured biker. We didn't know the biker but we knew the entertainer. The entertainer happened to be James Harrison of Fast Ryde. We meet Fast Ryde last year at CMA Fest in Nashville. We have kept in contact via twitter the past year and when he tweeted he was going to be performing here in Houston Jen and I jumped at the chance to go see and hang with James again. James' brother is a biker and knows the biker that was injured so that is how James knew about the benefit. We had a blast getting to hang with James and see him perform again. We hung out with him and his family for a while. The group of bikers are military vets who do benefits for fallen vets or vets in need. They are an awesome group of guys and gals. They have invited Jen and I to another benefit they are doing at the end of the month. We three hated to leave but we will be hanging out again soon!

Hockey game

Last night Watty and I went to our home teams hockey game with Jen and my dad. Jen and I were eating and dad was sitting by Watty while I ate. Watty was almost asleep waiting for the game to start when all of a sudden the lights went down and they started the intro of them team. What happened next was hilarious. Jen and I noticed Watty jumped up and started looking around saw us and looked at us like where are they? The way the intro for the hockey team was sounded like how Rascal Flatts started their tour last year. We died laughing and know that is what Watty thought was going on. Later on in the game the mascot came by and said hi to us and Watty got all excited. He even tried to give him his blankey we took with us. I love my dog and his silly antics.

What a Crazy Year

As I sit here 2 hours before 2011 I think back over the past year. What a ride...happy, sad, scary, exciting, frustrating and exciting. This time last year I would have never imagined the events that would happen. I had my first trip away from the family with just friends helping me out and had a blast. I visited Nashville and feel in love with it. My best friend moved down to help me out and we have been searching the whole year for an apartment but with no luck, so frustrating. I ended up in the hospital twice with gall bladder issues. First time surgery was called off and the second it was a success. My dad had surgery to have a pace maker placed and 2 months later was rushed to the hospital with endocarditis. He was on deaths door but God watched over him and he is back to "normal" after open heart surgery and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. Justin has a house and a new truck. Ian just got engaged to his girlfriend of 8 years. Mom had some medical issues at the beginning of the year but have never been figured out. As I look to 2011 I am hopefull it is a better and fun year. Less of the scary, sad, and frustrating stuff...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas Craziness

Christmas is just days away and so is the craziness. My brother and his girlfriend and my older brother and his two dogs are coming for the weekend. We will have Chip(sheltie). Watkins(lab). Penny(chihuahua), and Brutus(pit/Rhodesian mix) all inside the house. Chip is about 14 and almost blind, Penny is 7, Watkins is 5, and Brutus is 1. Watty and Brutus will have A LOT of play time outside to get energy out of both of them. Need the energy out so we don't have our Christmas tree falling over. We are hoping Watty will teach Brutus some manners. Shocker helped teach Justin's dog Maynard some manners so we are hopeful. I have a feeling I am going to be stressed and tired by this time next week.
